The English Badminton Award for “Services to Badminton”
Presented on Saturday 23rd February 2008
By Geoff Rofe esq. Vice President Badminton England
to
Mr David W Heather Hon Sec. M.C.B.A.
Citation
David Heather was nominated by “North London Evangel Badminton League,” to be their representative on the MCBA committee in June 1969, held this post till June 1971 when he was nominated and elected to the position of Middlesex County Secretary. He still holds that position after 36 Years of continuous and exemplary service.

He was made a Hon. Life Vice President of our Association in June 1997. He is currently Chairman of the Junior Committee, a position he has held for 4 years. The duties he carries out as well as his County Secretary’s role.

He became the Middlesex representative on the Badminton England Council in April 1993 and still currently holds that position. He became the Middlesex representative on the Badminton England Council in April 1993 and still currently holds that position.
He was elected to serve on the committee of the London Federation of Sports and Recreation, to represent Badminton in June 1997 and elected to the executive committee of the federation in 1999, a position he still holds.

David has been the voice of Middlesex and a colleague for over 30 years, during which time he has been a tireless worker for Badminton and has been ‘ex officio’ members of all the County committees, and I have always found him to be a model official both for his enthusiasm, organisational skills and his consideration for all the hard work that our Volunteers give in their duties to Badminton.

All of this is given without favour or reward. I have always relied very heavily on his Wisdom and Experience.

I can think of no one more justified to receive this award.

Don. Parker
Hon President Middlesex County Badminton Association.
